The ACT Touch Referees Association (ACTTRA) was created in 2003. The current ACT Touch Association Director of Referees, Mike Rush, and a number of other senior referees were disappointed at the lack of focus on refereeing issues within the ACT Touch environment. The ACTTRA aims to improve the relationship between the ACT Touch Association and it's members. We are actively involved in providing education and coaching to our members, and have successfully negotiated some performance based pay increases for social touch. We also hold regular social gatherings for our referees.
The ACTTRA receives income from membership fees, grants and sponsorship. Money received from grants is required to be used for the specific purpose identified in the grants. Grants so far have been used to provide excellent education sessions on communication, training, fitness and recovery. We have used sponsorship and membership money to provide subsidised referee uniforms to our members. The uniform shirts are being provided at much cheaper prices than they are available from the Australian Touch Association and are emblazoned with our sponsors name. All members are encouraged to wear the sponsored shirt for all ACT Touch Association competitions.
Further information about the ACTTRA including the constitution, executive nomination forms can be found in the downloads section. |
